PHILOSOPHY

Founded in 2024, the Havana Brown brand has a slow-release ethos – slowness matters – there is a beauty in life outside of trends. Havana Brown offers heirloom-quality modernist jewellery designed for everyday wear, that transcend generations and trends.

The edits express a world of nuanced forms, a distinct sensibility fusing elements of modern architecture for the human form with minimalism and a considered sense of scale and proportion.

The brand debuted with an emphasis on industrial elements, clean lines steeped in unconventional and understated fluidity and movement; a nuanced dance between the feminine and masculine, and has since become known for its sacred ritual of adorning in precious metals and stones.  Soon to encompass seasonal edits, which will explore reimagined sculptural silhouettes as well as a core permanent edit of fine jewellery.

Havana Brown pieces are designed and artisan-made in Auckland, New Zealand.

MATERIALS

Each Havana Brown edit is slow-release and intentionally designed to create timeless pieces that can be passed down through generations, with minimal environmental impact.

Havana Brown jewellery is made with recycled and responsibly sourced sterling silver and gold.  Gemstones are sourced also responsibly.  Each piece requires intricacy in its refinement, yet the design approach minimises components to reduce waste throughout the production process, and therefore, many of our pieces are made to order.

A beautiful blend of time-honoured artisan traditions, contemporary methods, and modern design elements meld together seamlessly, and thoughtful pieces are imagined for the treasure collectors and those seeking more considered lifestyle choices.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER

Fiona Bunn is a fourth generation New Zealand native.  Beauty and thoughtful design elements were ever present growing up and upon graduating from Whitecliffe School of Art and Design in 2023, she turned her attention to designing and making jewellery.  With a desire for reimagining tradition through blending beauty and function with ritual, in 2024 she founded Havana Brown.
